The global Covid-19 sequelae are emerging in large numbers! More and more "recovered" patients have sequelae

Release date:2022-06-12

According to the current feedback from "cured people" in various countries in the world, the sequelae of the new coronary pneumonia are obvious, and it is increasingly showing the strangeness and horror of the new coronavirus. We must not take it lightly. This article is being posted today, hoping to arouse everyone's vigilance and self-protection! The new crown epidemic should not be over in a short period of time. Everyone must be prepared for a protracted war and do normalized protection!

Humans are helpless against this plague that is ravaging the world, and the virus is still spreading and spreading in various countries.

And those who survived this catastrophe are still struggling with the pain.

According to reports, more and more "recovered" patients have sequelae in European and American countries that are hardest hit by the epidemic...

1. Damage to the lungs

Recently, many "recovered" patients with new coronary pneumonia in Italy have experienced physical discomfort.

After being cured, these patients still have sequelae symptoms such as coughing and easy fatigue. After some people return to work, they cannot even take a short walk due to shortness of breath and muscle soreness!

Italian football superstar Maldini said that although he has recovered from a mild infection, he has left behind sequelae.

"I tried going to the gym today for some training, but after just 10 minutes, I couldn't hold on."

A similar situation has also occurred in Hong Kong.

The Centre for Infectious Diseases of Princess Margaret Hospital in Hong Kong followed up on the first batch of 10 discharged patients, and found that there were 20 to 30% of the recovered patients with impaired lung function.

The sequelae are mainly manifested as shortness of breath when the pace is fast, unable to exercise normally, or even unable to do the previous work!

Wang Guiqiang, director of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Peking University First Hospital, pointed out that severe lung infection will develop into pulmonary fibrosis, and some critically ill patients will develop pulmonary fibrosis after being cured, affecting their daily life.

Moreover, there is currently no specific drug for pulmonary fibrosis, and the condition is irreversible.

2. Damage to liver and kidney

In addition to the damage to the lungs, there is growing evidence that the new coronavirus can also leave after-effects on the liver and kidneys of infected people.

The legendary American rapper Scarface has gradually recovered after the infection, and the symptoms have disappeared, except for the worsening of kidney failure.

He is currently undergoing dialysis, but experts say recovery from the kidney damage may be a long way off.

Two months ago, a study pointed out that kidney damage is common in people infected with the new crown.

Experts in the United Kingdom and Canada have also found that 8% to 12% of patients with new crowns in intensive care develop liver or kidney failure, requiring years of dialysis treatment to survive.

Huang Bo, deputy director of the Institute of Basic Medicine of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, said the liver and kidney damage in infected people may be due to lung dysfunction.

"When respiratory function is impaired, oxygen exchange is blocked, other organs will be in a state of hypoxia, and the kidneys, which are particularly sensitive to oxygen, often suffer severe functional damage."

3. Damage to the brain

In addition to the lungs, liver and kidneys, studies have found that many recovered patients have very serious central nervous system sequelae.

A neurological study conducted by Huazhong University of Science and Technology on hospitalized patients with new coronary pneumonia showed that among the 214 patients, more than 30% of the patients had neurological symptoms, which were manifested in three categories:

First, symptoms of the central nervous system such as headache, dizziness, disturbance of consciousness, acute cerebrovascular disease, epilepsy, etc.;

Second, peripheral nervous system symptoms such as loss of taste, loss of smell, loss of appetite, neuralgia, etc.;

The third is skeletal muscle damage.

A few months ago, a 56-year-old new crown patient was confirmed to have the new crown virus in the cerebrospinal fluid, and the clinical diagnosis was viral encephalitis. The central nervous system of the patient was attacked by the virus.

This situation, although rare, has occurred many times around the world.

According to NHK reports, a 24-year-old man living alone in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, developed a high fever after contracting the new coronavirus, accompanied by headache and limb weakness.

A few days later, the man was in a coma at home. After being sent to the hospital, he was diagnosed with meningitis. The PCR test of the cerebrospinal fluid was positive.

Experts said that it is very likely that the meningitis was caused by the new coronary pneumonia.

When the man woke up, he found that his memory of nearly 1 or 2 years had been lost!

The attending doctor, Takeshi Moriguchi, said that this is an important example of the new coronary pneumonia virus invading the central nervous system.

4. Damage to the heart

The damage to the hearts of patients caused by the new coronavirus is also not easy to ignore.

A 48-year-old patient from east London revealed that Covid-19 left her with severe heart damage:

"I had been feeling very cold for nine weeks after I was cured, and I was later told by my doctor that I had congestive cardiomyopathy (weakened heart function, enlarged heart chambers, and the heart couldn't pump enough blood), probably for the rest of my life, most of the time. People will slowly get better, but some may need pacemakers or even heart transplants."

Dr. James Russell, a professor of medicine at the University of British Columbia, and several other researchers found that in a survey of 8,000 patients with new coronary pneumonia, more than half of the severely ill patients suffered heart damage and even death.

Some people may ask, if the patients are cured, why are there still sequelae?

In fact, from a medical point of view, evaluating whether there will be sequelae after a disease is cured, it generally starts more than 6 months after the disease is cured.

Because the human body has a certain self-healing ability, many times the body organs are damaged due to diseases. After the risk factors are eliminated, the body can repair itself, and then return to normal without any sequelae.

at last:

In dealing with this new type of virus, cure does not mean success, and it will take time to verify whether serious complications will remain.

The battle between humans and viruses is far from over...

Now is not the time to take it lightly!
